CIBER Focus: Stephanie Wang's interview with Tarun Chopra, Part 2
Tarun Chopra, President and CEO of Clements Worldwide talks with IU Kelley professor Stephanie Wang. Stephanie asks Tarun to give 3 key words to describe India - where he is from originally. He answers, “diverse, vibrant, and growth” and explains why he chose those words.
Tarun discusses all the continents where he has lived and worked and where his favorite place is, if he had to choose one, and why it is his favorite.
Stephanie and Tarun discuss the cultural values from the East and West. Tarun explains that if he could create a great combination, it would be American directness, German precision, Italian craftsmanship, Japanese respect, and Indian/Chinese creativity which would be a deadly combination.
They discuss Tarun’s leadership of teams with cultural diversity and the interconnectedness of global business and how it affects everyone even those who think it doesn’t affect them.
Stephanie inquires Tarun about what changes he would make if he could time travel back 20 years previously? And Tarun elaborates what those would be.
Tarun and Stephanie wrap it up about the importance of having conversations with one another vs. always being on our phones and setting up time to reflect and think.
